Jay Duchene
President and founder of Allegheny Tours, Jay has been a "bent" rider for years, having first discovered recumbent bikes while a young man living in Lake Tahoe California. Jay is a life-long resident of the Western PA (except for those California years!) and a great lover of its beautiful hills and valleys. Jay, his wife and son have been using the trails for a number of years and have fallen in love with the entire Great Allegheny Passage.
Jay started ART in order to introduce more people to the comfort and pleasure of riding recumbent cycles and to introduce more people to the beautiful trails maintained by the Allegheny Trail Alliance. Jay has pledged that a percentage of all profits realized by ART, go to ATA to help expand and maintain the trails he loves so much!
Wendy Duchene
Jay's wife and business partner, joined the business in 2005 to help expand the rental aspect of ART. Together, The Duchene's purchased a home in historic Confluence PA from which to operate the business.
Bill Metzger
While not a member of ART, Bill Metzger is a great friend of recumbent cycling and the bike trails of Pennsylvania. A recumbent cyclist after decades of road bike riding Bill is one of the founding members of the Montour Trail Council. Bill maps and photographs the trails for the ATA. As the author of "The Great Allegheny Passage Companion", Bill took his place as the authority on local trail history, and often shares his knowledge with tour riders.
ART also has a number of energetic guides who look forward to meeting with you and showing you the most beautiful trail of Western Pennsylvania. The Great Allegheny Passage. There's no better way to bike it then on a recumbent!
