Allegheny Recumbent Tours, Inc. (ART) is a Confluence PA based recumbent bicycle rental & touring company offering daily rental, as well as guided & self-guided tours down one of the country's most scenic and history rich bike trails - the Great Allegheny Passage in Pennsylvania. Even though it is close to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, DC & Columbus, Ohio - the bike trail will transport you miles away from the pace and stress of city life. The Great Allegheny Passage offers riders the chance to experience the fun, ease and amazing comfort of recumbent cycling over 100 miles of smooth level, non-motorized, tree line trails.
Located in Confluence PA, The Center of the Great Allegheny Passage, just outside of Ohiopyle State Park in Western Pennsylvania, ART offers daily recumbent rentals from April through November (weather permitting). Each rider receives a bike, helmet, map, trail snack and easy riding instruction on the recumbent bikes.
ART offers those bike riders who want it the added pleasure of convenient and comfortable transportation back to the trail head, guides, complete trail support including instruction and refreshments, lodging on request, and most importantly the recumbent bikes themselves.
ART has special partnership arrangements with local Bed & Breakfasts and Inns in Confluence that offer special rates to our riders.
Recumbent cycles can be ridden in comfort and ease by regular trail users as well as inexperienced riders. Our recumbent cycles offer bike riders a natural upright position with total back support and comfortable arm and leg positioning. The smooth level trail of the Great Allegheny Passage allows even those bike riders who are not looking for a challenge the chance to cover a great distance of trail in comfort.
